The Cloquet boys golf team finished up the Lake Superior Conference play, placing fifth overall in the conference. However, in the last nine hole match in the conference the Lumberjacks came through, finishing second to the Hermantown Hawks.

The Lumberjack second place team finish was the best of the season. The Lumberjacks are hoping to build on that success as they approach the section tournament on Thursday, May 21st at the Quarry in Biwabik.

The final team standing in the Lake Superior Conference
is Hermantown as the Conference Champions. Duluth Central was second, followed by Superior third, Duluth Denfeld was fourth and Cloquet fifth. Cloquet was only 5 shots behind Denfeld overall. Duluth Marshall, Ashland and Proctor rounded out the rest of the standings.

In the conference individual rankings, it was Andrew Oakes of Hermantown finishing first. He finished just ahead of his teammate Alex Kolquist.
Robb Kraft of Superior was third, Ben Wrazidlo of Duluth Central was fourth, and Ryan Stupka of Duluth Denfeld was fifth. Andrew Castle was Cloquet’s top finisher as he was ninth overall.

Besides Castle, other Lumberjack golfers include Danny Nelson who was fifteenth overall and Ryan Korby who
