Proctor Now 6-0 On The Season With 9-3 Win

Alex Oachs pitched a complete game to lead Proctor over Greenway in a non-conference baseball game at Proctor. With the 9-3 win the Rails are now 6-0 on the season.


Oachs (1-0, 3.00 ERA) allowed three runs on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Oachs was making his first start of the season after sustaining a knee injury last fall. Oachs is now in second-place in PHS history with 12 career complete games. Dale Nikko (1975-78) is the school record-holder, with 17.

Proctor had built a 4-0 lead after three innings, but Greenway pulled to within 4-3 with a three-run fourth inning. Proctor added one run each in the fourth and fifth innings, and tacked on three more insurance runs in the sixth inning.

Proctor centerfielder Ian Scherber was three-for-three with a double, two RBIs, and two stolen bases. Proctor second baseman Justin Scanlon was two-for-three with a triple, three runs scored, and an RBI.


Tyler Pionk moved into second-place in PHS history for career games played, with 67, Pionk now has 250 plate appearances, becoming the second player in PHS history to record at least 250 plate appearances. Pionk trails only Charlie Habermann (2006-09) in both categories. Habermann totaled 69 games played and recorded 260 plate appearances.

Losing pitcher Alex Troumbley worked five innings. He allowed two earned runs on six hits, two walks, and a hit batsman. He had four strikeouts.
