Superior Hires New Softball Coach

Superior High School would like to announce that Mike Sather has been hired as the new head softball coach for the Spartans starting in the 15-16 school year. Mike is currently a physical education teacher at Superior Middle School.

Mike was the head coach for the Spartans 11 seasons in the late 80’s and 90’s where he guided the Spartans to the state tournament in 1993 . The past two seasons he was an assistant softball coach for Proctor High School.

Coach Sather replaces Amy Zembo who resigned to spend more time with her family. Coach Zembo was the head coach at SHS for the past 14 seasons and had a record of 176 wins and 111 loses. Coach Zembo earned two conference championships(’04, ’15) and three regional championships (’08, ’14, ’15) and lost in the section final in 2008.
