The Proctor Rails broke open a fourth quarter tie by making two big plays on their way to a 28-17 win over the Two Harbors Agates on Thursday night in Two Harbors.

The lone score in the first quarter was scored by Logan Loiselle of the Agates when he picked up a fumble and raced 50 yards to make it 7-0 following the extra point boot by Jessie Juenemann.

Tanner Aho pushed the Agate lead to 14-0 when he bulled into the end zone from two yards out and Juenemann added the kick early in the second quarter.

Chase Urie finally got the Rails on the scoreboard when nabbed a three-yard touchdown pass from Jake Malec to make it 14-6. John Aase kicked the extra point kick to make it 14-7 at the half.

Male tied the score at 14-14 in the third quarter when he crashed in from the two-yard line and Aase tacked on the extra point kick.

Two Harbors grabbed the lead in the early portion of the fourth quarter when Juenemann nailed a 29-yard field goal to make it 17-14, but that would be the last time the Agates would lead as Dakota Ellis Ciaccio caught a 31-yard touchdown from Malec to give Proctor the lead 21-17.

The Rails put the game away when Malec torched through the Agates defense on a nifty 54-yard touchdown run and Aase added the extra point kick to make the final 28-17.

With the win the Rails improved to 5-3 and the loss drops the Agates to the same record of 5-3.
