Don’t look now, but the Carlton Bulldogs are putting together an impressive early season run in girls softball. The Dogs are 5-0 on the season and have three blowout wins to their credit, plus an impressive 1-0 victory over Two Harbors. Even more impressive is they have yet to give up a run; earned, unearned, or otherwise.

On Monday afternoon the Bulldogs throttled Chisholm 21-0 as Megan Bodin picked up the win on the mound and Brooke Camps smacked out five hits and Megan Nelson bashed out four hits and had four RBI’s.

The Bulldogs also had impressive hitting efforts from Carissa Nelson (3) and Alanna Groth (3).

With former coach Denny Johnson back at the helm after a couple of years hiatus the Bulldogs have also pounded out a 7-0 win over East Central, 10-0 victory over Silver Bay and a 13-0 win over Cook County.
