Carlton’s offense just couldn’t find their groove, as they were defeated by the Hillcrest Lutheran Comets with a score of 42-6 at home last Friday night.  Everyone chipped in for Hillcrest Lutheran, as they had multiple players score.

The first drive of the game saw Bulldog quarterback Jackson Mickle throw a interception, which then resulted in a Comet touchdown drive thanks to a Sam Isaac score.  The next drive for the Comets would see quarterback Thomas Zwiers throw a deep touchdown pass to bring the score to 14-0 in the first quarter.

The Bulldogs would fail to capitalize on any drive, as Hillcrest Lutheran would score once more before halftime, as Kyler Newman would run in a score for the 21-0 lead at half.  The Comets picked up right where they left off in the third, as it was fullback Chris Tunseth powering it in the end zone for the short score.  The next Bulldog drive would result in a turnover for a score, as Mickle threw a second interception, which was fumbled, recovered by the Comets, and returned all the way by Tunseth for his second touchdown of the night.

The Comets would force another Bulldog punt, then quickly capitalize as Trey Bosek hauled in a touchdown pass from McGuire.  After back to back fumbles by both teams on their respective possessions, the Dogs would find the end zone before time expired, as Senior Ryan Adams ran it in for six.

The Bulldogs (1-3) will look to bounce back, as they host the South Ridge Panthers this Friday, while the Comets (4-0) will want to stay undefeated as they travel to take on Bertha-Hewitt Friday.
