The Carlton Bulldogs played the Hill City Hornets for the first time since 2012 on Monday night. The Bulldogs would have a great outing on the mound from Dominic Bennett, allowing the Bulldogs to secure the 6-2 victory.

Bennett would help his cause early by getting a base hit and later on scoring from an Evan Gray double to get the early 1-0 lead in the 1st inning. The Bulldogs would bat through the lineup in the 3rd and tack on 5 runs to make it a 6-1 lead. The Hornets would add one run in the 7th inning to make it a final of 6-2.

Dominic Bennett got the win for the Bulldogs, pitching 5.2 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 3 hits, while striking out 9 and only walking 2. Evan Gray came in relieve and pitched 1.1 innings and struck out all 4 outs. He also went 3-4 at the plate with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs. Jackson Mickle went 2-4 with a double and an RBI, and Tyler Ojibway and Nate Nilsen each recorded RBIs in the win.

The Bulldogs are now 2-5 on the season and will look to pick up another win on Wednesday when they travel to play the Silver Bay Mariners.
