The AlBrook-Cotton Falcons captured the 2010-2011 St. Louis County Conference title for what will be the last time in school history. The Falcons of course will be moving into their new school with their new name and playing under a new roof, but all that is the future as Tuesday night the Falcons downed the Cook Little Gophers 68-61 to claim the conference title.

The Little Gophers and the Falcons played a tight first half with the Falcons building a nine point 34-25 lead at halftime, Cook fought back in the second half but their comeback fell short as the Falcons captured the conference title on the road at Cook High School.

Bryce Karppinen led the Falcons with 21 points on the night, teammate Dan Wood helped to pace the Falcons with 20 points including hitting six three-pointers, Ryan Smith finished with 15 points, Robby McQuade added 8, and it was Kory Saver ending the scoring with 4 points for AlBrook-Cotton.

The Little Gophers were led by Matt Bergman, who finished with 14 points. Dan Pellinen added 11, Adam Wooster contributed with 10, Mason Wilhelmy, Karl Reichel, and Damon Finner all had 8 points, and it was Zach Linn rounding out the Cook scoring with 2 points in the loss.

With the win the Falcons improve to 11-9 overall on the season and they will next be in action again on Monday when they play at McGregor. The Little Gophers fall to 7-12 on the season and they will take on Mesabi East on Friday night.
