THUNDER’S JAIDEN COFIELD EARNS THREE POSTSEASON TEAM HONORS

 

Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder Women’s Basketball student athlete Jaiden Cofield was named to three postseason honor teams for her outstanding performance during the 2014-2015 season. Cofield was named to the NJCAA All-Region 13 Team that includes Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota, and the Michigan Upper Peninsula. She was also named to the Minnesota College Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team, and the All-Northern Division First Team in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.

During the season, Cofield earned Minnesota College Athletic Conference Northern Division Player of the Week honors four times, which is a record for any Thunder student athlete, in any sport. Cofield is a freshman from Cloquet, MN.

At the conclusion of the 2014-2015 season, Cofield led the MCAC Northern Division statistical leaders in scoring with a 21.2 average per game, in rebounding with a 13.1 average per game, and in steals with a 3.3 average per game. She was fourth in free throw average at 79.8% made on 223 attempts, with 99 more attempts than any other player in the division.

Cofield set Thunder records for most points scored in a single season with 531, most rebounds in a single game with 23 (twice), most steals in a single season with 83, most free throws made in a single game with 15, most three-point shots made in a single game with 6, highest rebounds per game average at 13.1, and highest steals per game average with 3.3. She also tied Thunder records of 8 assists in a single game, and 7 steals in a single game.
