Esko Boys Topple Rebels

The Esko Eskomos in search of their third consecutive section 7AA title took another step Saturday afternoon at UMD, as the Eskomos beat Polar League Rival Moose Lake-Willow River by a score of 54-33 at Duluth Denfeld High School.

The Eskomos Aaron Olson led a trio of Eskomos in double figures, all the while holding the Rebels top scorer Brad Fossum to only one point and held the Rebels to 10 second half points in the 21 point win, as the Eskomos knocked off the Rebels for the third time this season.

Esko built up a 10 point 33-23 lead at the break and then pressure defense and cold shooting by the Rebels saw the Rebels fall again.

Olson led all scorers with 15 points while Jaxon Turner scored 13, and Nate Johnson added 12 points in the victory at Denfeld.

Moose Lake – Willow River was led by Charlie Adamczak who finished with 10 points also connected with 3 three-pointers, Issac Riihiluoma and Eric Pracher also finished with 7 points.

The Rebels season ends with a overall record of 14-14, and the Eskomos advance to the section semifinals Tuesday night at UMD as they improved to 21-7.
