The Cromwell Cardinals spoiled homecoming Friday night for the Carlton Bulldogs as they beat their Polar League Rival 65-43 Friday night in Carlton.

In a game that was full of turnovers on both sides of the ball, the Cromwell Cardinals held a slight 26-21 lead at the half after a buzzer beating layup was made by Austin Pfisthner. To start the second half, the Bulldogs got out to a quick 9-4 run to knot it up at 30-30, but the Cardinals locked down on defense and cleaned up their offense and went on a 16-0 run, holding the Bulldogs scoreless for near 8 minutes. The Cardinals would go on to outscore the Bulldogs 39-22 in the second half to secure the sweep on the season.

The Cardinals improved to 11-9 on the season and will look to extend their 4 game winning streak when they travel to play the Cook County Vikings (2-13) on February 10th. The Bulldogs fall to 6-14 on the season and will look to bounce back against the South Ridge Panthers (4-14) at home on February 10th.
