The Duluth Central Trojans defeated the Lumberjacks for the second time this season as the Trojans took down Cloquet by a final score of 84-50. The Trojans capitalized on twenty-two Cloquet turnovers, turning them into thirty points as the Lumberjacks saw the Trojans take control early and build a lead they were unable to come back against.

The Lumberjacks jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and they again led at 9-8 but that was the last lead Cloquet would have as the Trojans took control of the game and went on a 43-15 run to close out the first half with a 51-24 advantage.

The second half saw the Trojans again come out strong as they continued to add to their lead which was thirty five points at one point of the game. The turnovers and the rebounding were keys to the Trojans success Thursday night as they win this Lake Superior Conference contest at home.

The Lumberjacks were led in scoring Thursday by Dane Kiehn with 12 points on the night. Andrew Wappes finished with 11, Zach Peterson added 10, Adam Laine had 8, Dillon Johnson finished with 6, Cody Stevens finished with 2, and it was Sean Ferrell with 1 point in the loss for the Lumberjacks.

Duluth Central was led in scoring by Jodeston Robinson who finished with 25 points including seven three-pointers on the night. C.J. Hamm added 17, Sam Humes 12, Andrew Laughlin and Derek Meger each ended with 9, Rex Dopp and Sergei Hanka had 5, and it was Jeff Ohaju with 2 points in the Trojans win.

The Lumberjacks fall to 4-15 on the season and they are in action again on Saturday night when they host North Branch in a section match up at Cloquet High School. The Trojans improve to 12-7 overall and they will play at Proctor on Tuesday night.
