In a highly anticipated  battle of two of the top small schools in boys basketball Friday night it was the Barnum Bombers who proved why they are one of the top teams in northeastern Minnesota as the Bombers rolled to a 63-37 victory at home.

The Bombers who enter the game 15-0 and Floodwood who was 16-0 saw the Bombers open the game on a 11-2 run and never were threatened as the Bombers went on to a 32-19 lead at halftime. Barnum led by as many as 32 in the second half holding the Polar Bears to only two points until the 11 minute mark of the second half and it wasn’t until a little over five minutes remaining when Ryder Lough’s 3 pointer made it five in the second half.

Brandon Newman hit 5 three-pointers to lead the Bombers with 27 points on the night, while junior post Hunter Fetters added 19 in the win. The Polar Bears who struggled against a pressure defense and also had few uncontested looks at the basket were led by Willow Christenson who had 11 points.
