Dylan Johnson’s game tying goal at 14:13 of the third period tied the game at 3-3 as the Lumberjacks and the Huskies would close out the third period and overtime scoreless the rest of the way, despite the Lumberjacks out-shooting the Huskies 40-17 Tuesday night at Northwoods Credit Union Arena in Cloquet.

Following a scoreless first period it was Andover jumping out to a 1-0 lead on the first of two goals by Tyler Vold as he scored just 38 seconds into the second period. Tyler Chicos tied the game at 1-1 as he scored a even strength goal with the assist to Hunter Roberts. The Lumberjacks took a 2-1 lead at 14:43 when Derek Bloom scored an unassisted goal.

Vold then scored his second goal of the game just 45 seconds later as the period ended with a 2-2 tie. The Huskies took a 3-2 lead midway through the third period but the Lumberjacks responded as Johnson scored the game tying goal on the power play with assists to Koby Bender and Kyle Klatt.

Huskies net-minder Maddie Rooney stopped 37 shots on the night for Andover while Casey Holshouser finished with 14 saves for the Lumberjacks.

Cloquet-Esko-Carlton moves to 7-10-1 on the season and they will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to the Twin Cities to take on East Ridge. Andover moves to 5-9-2 overall.
