Spartans Comeback over Jacks

The Superior Spartans took control in the second half Thursday night, following a Lumberjack 15-4 run for Cloquet to close out the first half and take a 41-35 lead into halftime. The Spartans used a 24-11 run over the final 11 minutes of the game to pick up the Lake Superior Conference victory at Superior High School.

Jake Libal scored 24 points for the Spartans, including 10 in the second half and Nick Melhum added 10 points including two big three pointers in the second half to lead the Spartans to the win.

The Lumberjacks were led by Nate Weets who finished with 26 points and Zach Gerlach added 19 for the Lumberjacks. Cloquet had 13 turnovers in the loss to the Spartans while Superior turned the ball over only four times on the night.
