Barnum Girls Rebound Form Loss In A Big Way

The Barnum Bombers responded well Monday night after coming off last Thursday’s loss to Esko. The Bombers lit it up from the outside as they doubled up on the Hibbing Bluejackets by a final score of 68-34. The Bombers connected on eleven three pointers as the get back in the win column after the first loss in 38 games last week.


Katie Myhre exploded for 27 points on the night, including a game high nine three-pointers as Barnum jumped out to a twenty-five point 42-17 lead at halftime. The Bombers came out in the second half and again continued to dominate as they went on to win this non-conference match up at home.


The Bombers, with the win improve to 18-1 on the season and are back in action again on Thursday night against the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels at Moose Lake High School. Following Myhre in scoring was Jessica Newman, who finished with 21 points in the victory. Daron Mainville added 8 points as did Claudia Turner, Claire Rodgers rounded out the Barnum scoring finishing with 4 points on the night.


The Blue Jackets fall to 11-7 overall, they are in action again on Thursday when they will host the Virginia Bluedevils in an Iron Range Conference contest. Katie McLaughlin led the Blue Jackets in scoring with 7 points. Melissa Weisbrick finished with 6, Callie Knudson added 5, Rachel Misbauer and Hailey Smith each contributed with 4 points, Erin Jamar added 3 points in the Hibbing loss.
