Carlton Girls Net Overtime Victory

On Saturday afternoon it was the Carlton Bulldogs outlasting the Ogilvie Lions in overtime to pick up a big victory at home. The Bulldogs knocked off the Lions by a score of 58-55 in overtime.


The Bulldogs trailed by two points at halftime 21-19, but out cored the Lions in the second half to tie the game and force overtime. In the overtime stanza it was Carlton outscoring the Lions by a seven to four margin as Carlton comes away with the three point win.


It was Lindsey Dahl-Holm who pounded in 26 points to lead all scorers in the victory. Clarissa Nelson added 13 points in the win, Savannah Schramm scored 9, Brooke Camps assisted with 5 points, Tori Zime had 2, as did Meny Sandoval. Rounding out the Carlton scoring was Alanna Groth with 1 point.


Brandy Ericson paced the Lions with 21 points on the afternoon, Anna Munsterteiger added 12, Emily Ripka scored 5, and Rachel Rivera also added 5 and Brianna Katinos scored 4 as did Katie Steesan for the Lions in the loss.


With the win, the Bulldogs moved to 5-13 and they hosted the McGregor Mercuries on Monday night.


The Lions of Ogilvie move to 5-9 on the season with the loss. They are next in action on Tuesday night when they will host Rush City at Ogilvie High School in a big sectional match-up.
