Lady Jacks Win 2nd Straight

The two Lumberjack girls basketball teams played on Tuesday in the annual Wood City Classic, where the Cloquet Lumberjacks won 66-48. In that game, Kassidy Steen put up a dominating 36 points.

Saturday’s game was closer, but Steen stole the show again, this time with 35 points, as Cloquet again rolled to the victory this time is was a 69-58 victory.

Anna Fossen added 18 points for Cloquet as the only other Lumberjack in double figures, as the Lumberjacks picked up their second consecutive victory and third of the season.

Alexa Greendahl led Bemidji with 14 points while Rumer Flatness scored 12 for Bemidji Saturday afternoon.

Kelsey Olson added 10 points and Kennedy Mills had nine, all in the second half.

Cloquet’s lead by as many as 15 points midway through the second half, but Bemidji the  closest the team got to Cloquet was 5 points.
