Eskomos Topple Pine City, Remain Unbeaten On The Season

The Esko Eskomos remained unbeaten Saturday afternoon as the Eskomos took down the Pine City Dragons 64-19 at Pine City. The Eskomos used a fast start to build a thirty two point lead at half at 42-10 and they never looked back as they go on to defeat the Dragons by forty-five points.


The Eskomos were led by Savanna Trapp who collected a triple double on the afternoon, finishing with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocked shots on the afternoon for the Eskomos. Keely Deadrick coming off a season low Thursday against Moose Lake-Willow River came alive as she finished with 20 points in the Esko win.


Deadrick also was alive defensively, finishing with six steals on the afternoon to go along with 11 rebounds for Esko. Marisa Shady added 11 points in the Esko win. The balance of Esko’s scoring came from Lydia Pelletier who added 9, Alyson Glumac who chipped in with 6 points, Bailey Mudek scored 3, and rounding out the scoring was Megan Reuer and Brooke Schramm with 2 points each in the win.


Gretchen Linzmeier, the top player for Pine City was held to only 10 points on the afternoon, which was twelve points below her season average. The rest of the Dragon scoring was Karina Nordrum with 4, Megan Meisner and Glicel Gollena each with 2 and Megan Meisner added 1 point for Pine City.


The Eskomos improve to 14-0 on the season and they are in action again on Monday when they host Hermantown. The Dragons fall to 4-8 overall on the season and they will be back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Isle to take on the Huskies in section play.
