It is not very often a high school girls basketball team makes 10 3-point shots compared to one by the opposition and lose, but that is exactly what happened to Cloquet on Friday night when they fell 53-48 to Ashland.

Cloquet held a 28-16 halftime lead, but were outscored 37-20 in the second half and fell to the Oredockers who made up for the lack of 3-pointers by going to the free throw line 28 times compared to just 11 for Cloquet. Ashland went 20-for-28 from the charity stripe, while Cloquet was 8-for-11.

Nicole Huber led Ashland with 20 points, while Lucia Agostine was also in double figures with 10 points.

Cloquet had three players with double figures including; Hazel Erickson with 15, Jess Stone with 14 and Kassidy Steen who had 11 points. Cloquet also got three points each from Kaylee McMillen and Morgan Leslie and Kendra Kelley had two points.
