The Proctor Rails found themselves trailing the Ashland Oredockers at halftime by eight points but a late second half push was not enough as the Rails fell to Oredockers by a score of 50-58 Tuesday night at Ashland High School. The loss makes it six games in a row the Rails have lost as they started a five game road trip with the game against Ashland.

The Rails fell behind at halftime as the Oredockers built up a halftime lead of 31-23. The Rails chipped away at the lead in the second half with hot outside shooting from Kaz Anderson as he nailed four three-pointers on the night for the Rails. The Rails second half comeback fell just short as Ashland picks up the Lake Superior Conference win at win.

The main difference in the game was the Rails committing seventeen turnovers to just eleven for the Oredockers. The Rails out shot Ashland and also did a much better job on the boards out rebounding the Oredockers by a 28-21 margin but in the end the turnovers proved too much to overcome.

Kaz Anderson led the Rails in scoring, finishing with a team high 20 points on the night. Jake White added 14 points, Charles Burns ended with 10 points, rounding out the rest of the Rail scoring was Anders Voss and Tyler Schubert with 5 points each, and Tyler Haedrich finished with 4 points in the loss.

Brock Mrdjenovich led all scorers on the night with 28 points for the Oredockers. Mrdjenovich was 11-19 overall shooting including two three-pointers in the Oredockers victory. Wendell Verbal was the only other Oredocker in double figures as he finished with 11 points in the Ashland win.

The Rails fall to 3-9 overall on the season and they drop to 0-5 in Lake Superior Conference play. The Rails are back in action again on Friday when they travel to International Falls to take on the Broncos in a sectional match-up.
