ESKO – Thus far this season, both the Esko boys and girls basketball teams have remained unbeaten. Friday night was the boys turn to put their perfect record on the line when they played host to the McGregor Mercs. With the help of seven 3-pointers from Jackson Lindquist the Eskomos passed their latest test by toppling McGregor by a score of 81-57, extending their record to a perfect 10-0 on the season.

Esko came out strong, built up a 10 point 36-26 halftime lead and never looked back as they cruised to the 24 point win at home. Esko saw four of their five starters end up in double figures by the time the dust had settled.

Jake Stainbrook led all scorers with 26 points on the evening. Lindquist followed close behind with 24 points, 21 coming by way of the long ball. Joining Stainbrook and Lindquist in double figures were Jared Harms and Adam Eskuri with 12 and 10 points respectively. Others scoring for the Eskomos were Ben Hanson with 3 points, and Marc Peterson and Andrew Wendland with 2 points each.

Zerek Marsyla led four McGregor players in double figures with 13 points. Others in the double digit column were Elliott Haapoja with 12 points, while Alex Carlstrom and Preston Hurd had 10 points each. Garret Collins contributed 6 while Brandon Anderson and Kendall Milner rounded out the scoring with 2 points each.

The Eskomos will have a short turnaround when they travel to Virginia on Saturday for a 7:30pm matchup with the Blue Devils. McGregor will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Floodwood.
