Wilderness win 5th Straight

The Minnesota Wilderness scored the final three goals of the game as they handed the Magicians their seventh straight loss in a 5-2 win on Wednesday at Northwoods Credit Union Arena. Michael Covach and Ivan Chukarov gave the Wilderness a 2-0 lead in the 1st period.

The Magicians answered in the 2nd period to tie the game at 2-2 as Nathan Krusko and Kane Durment lit the lamp, but it was all Wilderness after that point. Billy Exell scored the go-ahead and game-winning goal late in the 2nd period as he intercepted a Magicians pass took it down the ice and beat net minder Cole Weaver for the go ahead goal.

Darian Romanko added two 3rd period goals to ensure the win for the Wilderness who have now won five straight games. The Wilderness are on the road this weekend as they will face the Bismark Bobcats in North Dakota.

Ryan Anderson made 23 saves in the win as the Wilderness improve to 14-7-1 and are in second place in the Midwest Division behind the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
