Makayla Langenbrunner scored a power play goal late in the third period as the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Lumberjacks came from behind and earned a tie with the Roseville Raiders at 1-1 Saturday afternoon at Northwoods Credit Union Arena.

Langenbrunner put a slap shot past goaltender Corrina Pierson at the 11:45 mark of the third period as the Lumberjacks were enjoying a two-player advantage, as Langenbrunner’s shot came from just inside the blue-line.

The Lumberjacks who were out shot by a 39-13 margin were kept in the contest by great goal-tending from senior Sydney Heitala who made several acrobatic saves to keep the Lumberjacks close and an opportunity for the victory.

The Lumberjacks and the Raiders played even during the overtime with both team having chances to win the match up but goal tending and strong defense was observed by both teams.

Cloquet-Esko-Carlton moves to 0-3-1 on the season and they will face the Mirage of Proctor-Hermantown on Thursday night in Proctor.
