The Minnesota Wilderness split their weekend series with the Aberdeen Wings Friday and Saturday in Aberdeen South Dakota. Aaron Miller scored twice Friday night to lead the Wilderness to a 3-1 victory and put an end to a 4 game losing streak.

Millers two goals were more then enough Friday as the Wilderness out shot the Wings 22-17 and picked up their 9th win of the season. Brock Kautz was the winning goaltender Friday stopping 16 of the 17 shots he faced. Brett Heikkala added the other Wilderness goal Friday night.

Saturday saw the Wilderness take three first penalties that put themselves behind as the Wings scored a power play goal to take a 1-0 lead after the first period. Jack Forbort scored the game tying goal at 15;28 of the second period to tie the contest, but the Wings added their second power play goal of the night to take the lead at 2-1.

The Wings net minder withstood 15 third period shots by the Wilderness as Minnesota was unable to tie the game and took the one goal loss. The Wilderness are 9-7-1 overall and are in third place of the Midwest Division. The Wilderness will be back in action next Friday and Saturday with a 2 game series in Minot.
