South Ridge advances to semi finals

CULVER, Minn.— South Ridge advances to the Section 7A Semi Finals tonight with a win over the Cook County Vikings. The Panthers won three consecutive games with scores of 25-18, 25-20, and 25-12.

Senior Setter Mikayla Olesiak had 23 set assists. She served 30 for 30 with 8 ace serves, and also added 12 digs. Sophomore Marriah Janke added 6 set assists and 100% serving.

Senior Justice Janke led the team offensively with 14 kills and 7 digs, followed by cousin Junior Lindsey Janke with 10 kills and 11 digs. Junior Mallory Thibault added 7 kills and 8 digs, and ended the night with an ace serve to finish the match.

Cook County was led by Junior Linden Sutton with 6 kills and 3 ace serves, followed by sister Freshman Meredith Sutton with 5 kills. Senior Britta Andress added 3 blocks for the Vikings who ended the season 15-8.

South Ridge will take on Northeast Range on Tuesday night in Grand Rapids. Game time is 5:00 PM.
