Proctor Boys Hold Off Carlton For 56-54 Win

The Proctor Rails started strong Wednesday night in the opening round of the Proctor Holiday tournament at Proctor High School. The Rails jumped out in front of the Carlton Bulldogs 33-22 at halftime then held off a pesky Carlton Bulldog squad as the Rails knocked off the Bulldogs by a final score of 56-54.


The Rails finished with three players in double figures as they win their first round matchup over Carlton. Anders Voss finished with a game high 13 points for the Rails in the victory, while team mates Jacob White and Charles Burns contributed with 12 points each.


Sophomore Eric Adams led all scorers in the game, finishing with 16 for Carlton in the loss. Tyler Peterson and Marc Shoberg each had 8 points for Carlton. Rounding out the rest of the Bulldogs scoring was Matthew Lund with 7 points, Kodie Peterson and Nic Vacura each added 4; Kyle Gunderson scored 3, Dakota Frear & Lane Empson ended with 2 points each.


The rest of the Rails scoring was Kaz Anderson, who poured in 9, Tyler Haedrich scored 7, Iziah Schramm added 2 points and rounding out the Rail scoring was Tyler Schubert with 1 point. Charles Burns also had an outstanding game on the boards for the Rails as he closed out with 17 rebounds on the night.


The Rails improve to 3-3 on the season and will face Deer River in the Championship game of the Rail Holiday Tournament. Deer River hammered AlBrook-Cotton in the first game Wednesday 75-47. Carlton will face the Falcons in the third place contest.
