Denfeld Topples Proctor

The Duluth Denfeld Hunters took on the Proctor Rails in both boys and girls soccer last night. The boys came out victorious, shutting down the Rails 4-0. The Hunters and Rails found themselves locked up in a 1-1 tie in the girls game.

In the boys matchup, Marques Jones scored in the 36th minute from a Andrew Washechek assist to give the Hunters the 1-0 lead going into the half. In the 2nd half, Jake DeCaro scored a goal off a PK at the 43rd minute to increase the lead to 2-0. Jones would score his second goal of the game, this time from a Ben Scrignoli pass, to increase the lead to 3-0. Ben Rouse assisted the 4th goal for the Hunters, finding Jacob Faynik to cap of the scoring in the 4-0 victory.

Michael Petoletti had 8 saves for Proctor, while Nate Regas had 3 in the shutout for Denfeld.

Duluth Denfeld Improves to 7-7-2 heading into playoffs. Their opponent has yet to be determined. Proctor dropped to 3-11-1 and also hasn’t had their playoff opponent determined yet.
