Jacks Shut-out Thunderhawks

The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys soccer team shut out the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks by a score of 3-0 Tuesday afternoon at Rol Bromberg field in Cloquet.

The Lumberjacks scored first Tuesday when Ryan Carlson scored at the 29 minute mark on an assist from Andre Couture that gave CEC the 1-0 lead, and the half ended.

The second half saw the Lumberjacks take a 2-0 lead when Ben Pietsch scored with the assist coming from Nolan Ripp. Dylan Johnson made the score 3-0 at the 60th minute point of the half and that’s how the game ended with the three goal victory.

Halen Danielson stopped three shots in the victory, and Joseph Burt stopped three shots as well in the loss.

The Lumberjacks improve to 8-4-1 and will host Duluth East next Monday afternoon. The Thunderhawks fall to 3-7-2 and they will play at Proctor on Thursday afternoon.
