MLA Shuts Out Silver Bay 4-0

Austin Lanoue made 22 saves and preserved the shutout on Thursday night and the Moose Lake Area boys hockey team downed Silver Bay/Cook County 4-0 on the road.

After a scoreless first period the Rebels got on the board when Stephen Gassert converted a pass from Zach Cisar in a shorthanded situation at 9:06 of the second period. MLA made it 2-0 at 12:59 when Tyler Cisar got the puck past Mariner goalie Alex Murray with assists to Josh Cisar and Zach Cisar.

Just 1:42 into the final period the Rebels went up 3-0 when Gassert scored his second goal of the game on assists from Cole Lower and Michael Gassert. The Rebels final goal of the game came at 9:45 on the power play from Tyler Cisar, his second of the game, and assists to Jake Cisar and Josh Cisar.

Murray was called on to make 34 saves on 38 shots for the Mariners.

With the win MLA is now 3-1-0 on the season. They will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Blaine to take on Legacy Christian Academy at the Schwann Super Rink.
