MINNEAPOLIS (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women’s soccer team won its second consecutive game on the road as the Saints defeated the North Central University Rams 5-0 to remain perfect in conference play thus far.

The Saints wasted little time taking the lead in the first half, with Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) scoring a pair of quick goals in the 15th and 16th minutes, with both assists coming from Jalyn Britton (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS). CSS would out-shoot the Rams 22-0 in the half, but despite the first half onslaught, the Rams would escape the first half down just 2-0. Kehtel’s pair of goals put her just one point shy of Robin Johnson’s program mark of 168 career points.

St. Scholastica continued to dominate in the second half with another 18 shots on goal, while the Rams were unable to muster a shot on goal at any point in the game. CSS would quickly extend the 2-0 lead as Alexi Bopray (River Falls, Wis./River Falls HS) buried an unassisted goal in the 50th minute, while Taylor Rozmark (Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS ) would find the back of the net in the 66th minute to bring the score to 4-0. Leah Hamm (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) would tack on a final goal in the 80th minute off of a Kirsten Olsen (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine HS ) assist to push the lead to the final of 5-0.

Annie Michels (Plymouth, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret’s ) had an uneventful debut in net for CSS, not having to record a save in the winning effort. For the Rams, Taylor Patch saved 16 shots in the losing effort.
St. Scholastica will put its perfect conference record on the line tomorrow as the Saints travel to St. Paul to take on the University of Northwestern Eagles at noon.
