Lady Hawks Nip Denfeld-Central on Hoium’s 3-Pointer

There’s an old saying in sports that ‘it ain’t over till it’s over’. Last night that saying was proven correct when the Hermantown Hawks rallied on a last second 3-point shot by Rachel Hoium that gave them a 54-53 road victory over Duluth Denfeld-Central.

It was a tightly played game throughout with neither team holding much of a lead. At halftime the Hawks held a 21-19 point edge, but the lead seesawed back and forth most of the night.

Denfeld-Central was led in scoring by Leah Hamm who pumped in 18 points and Becca Hendrickson who added 11 points.

The Hawks were led by Hoium’s 22 points, 13 from Carmen Bergstedt, nine from Nicole Kucza, three points from Emily Neumann and two points each from Mary Neumann and Ally Dieryck.
