Proctor Shuts Out Mesabi

The Proctor Rails recorded their first shutout of the season, toppling Mesabi East Area 4-0 on Tuesday evening.

In the first half, Lexie DeWall connected with Jen Thiry to start the scoring at the 17th minute. DeWall would get another assist just 10 minutes later when Brittany Eklund hit the back of the net to put the Rails up 2-0. Anissa Brisk would put the Rails up 3-0 at the 33rd minute off a Melanie Marchetti assist.

In the second half, the Rails didn’t score until the 74th minute when Lyndsay Burud hit the back of the net. Alison Schubitzke got the assist on the goal.

The Rails improve to 2-2-1 on the season and will play again on September 11th when they travel to play Duluth Marshall (2-3). Mesabi East Area drops to 0-6 on the year.
