Women’s Soccer Receiving Votes in NSCAA Preseason Poll
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women’s soccer team is receiving votes in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Preseason poll that was released on Friday.Fresh off their third straight NCAA Division III Tournament appearance, the reigning 10-time Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) regular season champions return back for preseason camp next Thursday. The Saints are the only Minnesota school that is represented in the poll.The Saints return three-time UMAC Offensive Player of the Year honoree and Duluth-native Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS). Kehtel is the program record-holder for career goals (70), including 19 game-winning goals. She is only eight points shy of Robin Johnson’s record of 168 career points.CSS also returns second-leading scorer and another Duluth-native Leah Hamm (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) this season. Hamm scored 15 goals and added 10 assists as a sophomore in 2013. Casey Mitchell (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) is also back for her senior campaign. Mitchell recorded 12 goals a season ago.

Junior Kelsey Reeves (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River HS ) is back in goal. Reeves finished with eight shutouts last season, despite missing a portion of the year due to injury.

The Saints will open the season on August 29 down in San Antonio, Texas against second-ranked Trinity University (Texas). The following day they will face 16th-ranked Hardin-Simmons University (Texas). In its third game of the season, September 5 in Moorhead, the Saints will face seventh-ranked Wheaton College
