The 2010 Class A All-State soccer team was announced this past week with several NSO area players getting the nod.

Garnering a spot on the coveted all-state first team was Esko-Carlton junior forward Caitlin Lilly. Lilly led the Eskomos in scoring while helping them reach the section 7a finals for the second consecutive year.

Hermantown’s Melissa Madison received 2nd team all-state honors for her role as a Midfielder on the 2010 Hawk’s team. Madison finished her junior season with 10 goals and 5 assists.

On the Boys side, junior Hunter Leon of Cloquet-Esko-Carlton picked up a second team all-state trophy for his efforts with the Lumberjacks. The versatile player took advantage of the limited scoring chances he had for the Jacks scoring 8 goals while notching 5 assists. CEC Head Coach Archie Clark had high praise for his forward/defender, “Hunter played up front for only half of the season before I moved him in the middle of the back because of injuries. He played nearly every minute of every game and I think he is the best player in our area.”

Jaclyn Scanlan, a
senior midfielder
from East Grand Forks was named Ms. Soccer.
On the boys side,
senior midfielder Adam Osman of Mankato East captured Mr. soccer
