Coming into the game on a season-high 4 game losing streak, the Duluth Clydesdales played the league-leading Fort William North Stars about as even as you can get, pulling out the win 4-3 at Lake County Arena in Two Harbors.

Josh Wentz put Duluth on the board just 48 seconds into the game, and that 1-0 score would stand through the remainder of the 1st period. At 6:11 into the 2nd Isaac Howarth tied it up for the North Stars, and just 49 seconds later Travis Tilley gave Fort William the lead 2-1. Riley Marsh scored a power play goal to put the visitors up 3-1 at 7:49 of the third.

However, the Clydesdales never gave up. Josh Wentz notched his second of the night on a rebound at 12:46 on the power play, and Lee Melde tied the game 50 seconds later with an impressive individual effort, deking out the defenseman and firing it past Guillame Piche on the near side. The battle continued back and forth until Dillon Mershon slammed home another rebound goal with less than a minute remaining.

Two Harbors native Matt Morsette tallied 3 assists playing in his youth home rink, while Mike Webb turned away 19 of 22 for the Clydesdales.

With the win, Duluth claims 5th place to itself, pushing Sioux Lookout to 6th. The Clydesdales play the Flyers Halloween night back home at the Heritage Center.
