Singpiel Named National Player of the Week

Cloquet football player, Joey Singpiel, was named U.S. Air Force National Player of the Week last week after the senior picked off four passes against Proctor in the Jacks 14-0 victory over the Rails on October 8. Singpiel also rushed 4 times for 13 yards and caught a touchdown pass.

Head coach of the Lumberjacks, Tom Lenarz, got a call from the U.S. Air Force last week after the Jacks win over Proctor, letting him know that Singpiel had won the award. According to the Minnesota State High School League the four interceptions in a single game ties Singpiel for second place in the All-Time MSHSL record books for interceptions in a game.
