ESKO- Last week Max Reinertsen last ran for seven touchdowns against Deer River, he had another impressive night for the Eskomos. Reinertsen ran for two touchdowns and passed for another as the Eskomos defeated the Tigers by a score of 39-8. Reinertsen, who rushed for 283 yards last week, ran the ball 13 times for 114 yards in the Eskomos win. The Eskomos had nine players run the ball on Thursday for a combined 296 total yards.

The first quarter was scoreless as both teams struggled to get going on their first possession; the Tigers were plagued by penalties all night long as they failed to get a first down until the second quarter. The Eskomos got on the scoreboard first when Reinertsen exploded for a 35 yard touchdown run with 11:20 remaining in the first half Jake Stainbrook kicked the extra point and the Eskomos led 7-0.

The Eskomos once again held the Tigers on defense and would take a long sustained drive, capped off when the Eskomos scored again with 1:24 remaining in the first half. Reinertsen connected with Zach Crow on a 10 yard touchdown pass and the extra point made it a 14-0 Eskomo lead at halftime. Esko took the second half kickoff and put together a slow methodical drive that took over seven minutes off the clock and ended in a Jesse Lonetto 1 yard touchdown run, the extra point was blocked so the Eskomos lead was 20-0.

Rush City then went on a drive and scored their only touchdown of the game on a 1-yard touchdown run from quarterback Garrett Churchsmith. Cody Schmidt ran in the two point conversion and Esko led 20-8 with only seconds left in the third quarter and the momentum seemed to be building the Tigers way. The ensuing kickoff would end any momentum Rush City had however. Corey Kolkin reeled off a 74 yard kickoff return for a touchdown and Esko led 26-8 at the end of three quarters.

The Eskomos added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter, a 44 yard touchdown run from Reinertsen and a 13 yard touchdown run from Earl Brinkley to seal the win for the Eskomos. The win moves the Esko to 5-2 on the season. The Eskomos will face the section 7AA leading Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels on Wednesday in Willow River.
