Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College wrapped up its second season of women’s volleyball with a 3-0 loss to Mesabi Range Community and Technical College in Minnesota College Athletic Conference action on Tuesday night in Virginia.

The Thunder, while struggling to come up with a win, did manage to play Mesabi Range tough while losing 25-18, 25-19 and 25-18.

Wrenshall native, and Carlton High School graduate Holly Nelson, led the Thunder with seven kills, while Cloquet’s Amber Gregg recorded six kills, 11 digs and had one ace serve.

Rita Aspinwall, of Elk River, delivered 18-set assists and 15-digs, while libero Rachel Sanda of Cloquet had 20-digs in the back row.

Liz Wilke-Bobst of Ranier finished with three ace serves in the match.
