East Wins Close Game With Anoka

The Duluth East Greyhounds got matched up with Anoka in the first round of the 7AAA playoffs and they came out on top in a nail bitter, winning 3-2 to advance to the next round.

St. Scholastica recruit, Jake Turner, recorded the win for the Greyhounds, pitching 7 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits and striking out 12. The offend was led by Chris Olson who his a double in the bottom of the 7th that drove in 2 runs to tie the game at 2-2. Frankie Hanson had 2 hits on the day, but none bigger then the single that drove Olson across the plate for the Greyhounds victory.

Duluth East now improves to 14-6 and will advance to play on May 31st against top seeded St. Francis. The game will be played in Anoka with the time TBD.
