CEC Wins #1 Singles But Falls To Aitkin

The lone win for the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girls tennis team came from Kelsey Collier at #1 singles on Tuesday night as the Lumberjacks were beaten 6-1 by the Aitkin Gobblers.

Collier defeated Anna Browning 6-3, 6-3, but from that point forward the Gobblers lost only one set the rest of the day.

Savanna Ellena, of CEC, fell 6-3, 6-1 to Tori Sundholm at #2 singles, Kristen Chalich dropped a 6-1, 6-1 game at #3 singles to Megan Rubelke and Lizz Jezierski of CEC lost 6-0, 6-4 to Claire Browning at #4 singles.

Things were even tougher in doubles matches as CEC dropped all 3 of those matches to the Gobblers. Reilly Kedrowski and Michaela Houser fell 6-1, 6-3 to Kaitlyn Davies and Kaija Fossum at #1. AT #2 doubles it was Kalie Shevich and Asha Fritsinger dropping a 6-4, 6-0 match to Kaitlyn Konzer and Brittany Searle and at #3 doubles the CEC team of Breanne Baker and Alyssa Acheson lost 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 to Amanda Kurtz and Mali Nordean of Aitkin.
