Hermantown looking to Repeat

The Hermantown Hawks are back in action Tuesday afternoon as the Hawks look to make another run at what could be their 20^th state tournament appearance, the

Hawks all ready hold the state record with 19 trips to the state softball tournament.

Hermantown who knocked off Esko last Thursday by a score of 6-5 at Portage Park

in Cohasset and then earned a 6-0 shutout over International Falls the Hawks will

now face Pequot Lakes as the two unbeaten teams meet at 2 pm in Cloquet.

The Patriots also won two games last week in the section 7AA double elimination

tournament, it was a 8-3 win over Proctor, and a come from behind 8-6 win over

Cloquet. The Patriots met Hermantown in the state tournament a year ago and the

Hawks beating the Patriots by a score of 4-1 in the Class AA quarterfinals.

Tuesday action will begin at noon with action in the losers bracket as it will be

Clqouet taking on Esko in one contest and Virginia meeting up with International

Falls in the other noon contest. The winners of these two games will play at 2 pm

and that will will face the loser between Hermantown and Pequot Lakes at 4pm.
