FDLTCC Volleyball Drops Close 5-Game Match

They may still be looking for their first volleyball win of the season, but they got a whole lot closer on Saturday afternoon. The Fond du Lac Thunder women’s college volleyball team was edged out 25-9. 21-25, 25-11, 21-25 and 15-11 by Hibbing in a match played at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College.

Despite not having a win the Thunder have shown signs in their last few matches that they are coming together as a team and understanding what coach Laura Sylvester is asking them to do.

Holly Nelson, who played high school sports in Carlton, led the Thunder with seven kills and Rachel Sanda picked up 20-digs to lead the defense. LaRena Evazich of Wrenshall also had a solid afternoon as she notched 21 set assists while running the offense.
