The Esko Eskomos scheduled St Croix Lutheran this season, to fill a void in their schedule, knowing the Crusaders, being a larger 3A school from the twin cities would be a strong opponent to test the Eskomos midway through the 2010 season. The Eskomos played strong with the Crusaders but would fall in the end to the larger 3A school by a final score of 46-21.

The Crusaders scored first on a 35 yard touchdown run by Wesley Tucker, the extra point was no good and the lead was 6-0. Esko answered right back however, when Jake Anderson scored on a 35 yard touchdown run, and with a Jake Stainbrook kick the Eskomos led for what would be the only time in the game at 7-6.

St. Croix responded right back with a 40 yard run from Matt Olson and with a two point conversion; the Crusaders led 14-7. Zach Crow caught nice one handed 44 yard pass from Max Reinertson to cut the led to 14-13, but the extra point was no good and that was be as close as Esko would be the rest of the night. Jackson Goplen scored on a 3 yard run at the end of the first quarter and St. Croix led 22-13 after the 1st quarter.

Wesley Tucker added his second touchdown run of the game for St. Croix in the second quarter and with a two point conversion it was the Crusaders leading 30-13 at halftime. Esko scored the first touchdown of the second half when Reinertson scored on a 27 yard scamper and a pass from Reinertson to Crow for the two point conversion cut the St. Croix lead to 30-21.

St Croix added two third quarter touchdowns to round out the scoring Friday night Tucker, who the press box announcer probably will be saying his name in his sleep, scored his third touchdown of the game on a 1 yard run, and minutes later he punched his fourth touchdown of the game into the end zone, this time from 5 yards out and the Crusaders picked up their fourth win of the season on the road.

The Eskomos fall to 3-2 overall on the season and will play on the road next Friday night in Deer River as they face another section opponent. St. Croix Lutheran moves to 4-1 on the season and they will host Brooklyn Center next Friday night at home.
