Denfeld Softball Claims LSC Title

The Duluth Denfeld softball clinched the Lake Superior Conference title on Saturday when they topped Ashland 10-0. This is Denfelds third conference title in the past four seasons.

Ashley Taipale improved her record to 13-4 with the win. She pitched a complete game, striking out 12 while allowing 3 hits. The offense was propelled by Ciarra Taipale who went 4-5 with 2 home runs and a double while driving in 5 runs and scoring 4. Maddy White went 3-5 and scored twice, Alexia Klaas hit a 2 run homer in the win, and Lexi Hill went 2-4 with a double and an RBI.

The Denfeld Hunters are carrying a 14-4 record into the playoffs. They won their last nine games of the season and will be one of the top seeds in the Section 7AAA playoffs.
