NSO area volleyball recap for Tuesday Sept. 28

Barnum 3 McGregor 1

The Barnum Bombers stayed undefeated in Polar League conference play as the Bombers defeated the Mercuries 3-1 in Barnum Tuesday night. Jessica Newman had 13 kills and Karianna Duesler had 28 set assists.

Esko 3 Carlton 0

After falling behind early in the first game it was Esko storming back and defeating the Bulldogs in three straight games at Esko Tuesday night. Keely Deadrick finished with 18 set assists, 10 digs and 4 ace serves on the night.

AlBrook 3 Bigfork 0

The AlBrook Falcons rebounded Tuesday night after falling to Floodwood on Monday. The Falcons swept the Huskies 3-0 at Bigfork High School. Alyssa Johnson finished with 18 set assists and Mikayla Olesiak had 14 digs and 7 ace serves.

Cromwell 3 Silver Bay 0

Marlene Wester was a perfect 20-20 serving Tuesday night as the Cromwell Cardinals swept the Mariners of Sliver Bay at home. Wester also added 6 kills for Cromwell and Brianna House had 11 set assists in the Cromwell win.

Hermantown 3 Moose Lake-Willow River 1


Andrea Enockson had 35 set assists as the Hawks won on the road Tuesday night. Katie Thun added 12 kills, Stephanie Kallberg finished with 11 kills, and Danielle Anderson added 18 digs in the win. Hayley Johnson had 21 digs, and Maddy Adamczak had 21 assists for the Rebels.

Eveleth-Gilbert 3 Proctor 0


The Golden Bears of Eveleth-Gilbert swept the rails 3-0 in Proctor Tuesday evening. Karyn Horvath led the Rails with 14 set assists on the night. Ana Leveille finished with 5 kills in the Rails loss at home.

Two Harbors 3 Wrenshall 0

The Agates picked up their first win of the season as the Agates defeated the Wrens at Home Tuesday night. Kaylee Peterson led Two Harbors with 12 kills. Maria Burcar ended with 5 kills for Wrenshall.
