CEC Tennis Comes Up Just Short Against Crosby-Ironton

It was overcast and a bit breezy, but the rain held off on Tuesday afternoon allowing the Crosby-Ironton Rangers and Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Lumberjacks to meet up on the tennis court in Cloquet. The final result saw the Rangers pull out a 4-3 victory over the youthful Jacks.

CEC managed wins at both #1 and #2 singles by Kelsey Collier and Savanna Ellena. Collier defeated Alice Bertram 6-1, 6-2 and Ellena downed Mariah Oren-Craig 6-3, 6-4. The Rangers bounced back by taking wins at #3 and #4 singles with Jessica Lundstrom defeating Lizz Jezierski of CEC 6-1, 6-3 and Gabrielle Hudrlik beating Breanne Baker of CEC 6-1, 2-6, 6-2.

C-I also picked up wins at #1 and #2 doubles by Ashley Baruff and Vanessa Hudrlik at #1 and Meredith Silgen and Shannon Lundgren at #2.

The Jacks rebounded to win at #3 doubles when Stephanie Campbell and Alyssa Acheson won 6-1, 6-3 over Shannon Taylor and Rachel Norwood of C-I.
