The Fond du Lac Thunder women’s volleyball team stayed winless last night after falling to Mesabi Range in college women’s volleyball action. The Thunder lost by scores of 25-7, 25-19 and 25-18.

After a slow start in the first game the Thunder rebounded to play well in games two and three led by the hitting of Amber Gregg of Cloquet. Gregg finished with 8-kills and 5-digs. Holly Nelson of Carlton added 5-kills, while Cloquet native Rachel Sanda added 8-digs in the back row along with Rita Aspinwell.

Earlier this week it was announced that Nelson, a sophomore, was named the player of the week in the MCAC after recording 30-kills in a two-game stretch. Nelson also is a returning starter for the Thunder women’s softball team which will begin their fourth season of play in March.
