Eskomos win O.T Thriller

Minneapolis- It was the number two seeded Esko Eskomos defeating the East Grand Forks Green Wave 57-54 in overtime on Wednesday night at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.

The victory by the Eskomos Wednesday evening at Williams Arena now puts the Eskomos back into the state Class AA Semifinals for the second consecutive season.

 

East Grand Forks had tied the game with 16 seconds left in regulation with a 3-pointer from James Warmack to send the game into overtime, and the Green Wave had two more 3-point attempts in the final seven seconds of overtime that rimmed out that could have sent the quarterfinal match-up into a second overtime period.

The Eskomos were led by senior forward Kory Deadrick with 24 points and 14 rebounds in the game, Deadrick also added three assists, three blocks and three steals for the senior standout.

 

Esko who trailed by one point came back in the second half to take the lead by as many as six points, but missed free throws allow East Grand Forks to pull closer and tie the game at 51-51at  the end of regulation.

Kory Deadrick scored four of the six overtime points and Marc Peterson added the other two as the Eskomos move into the semi-final’s against Fairmont who defeated St. Peter 58-54 Friday night at 8 pm at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
