The first half saw a slow start by both teams as Esko could not hit an outside shot and struggled to find their way offensively. The Gobblers grabbed a 12 point lead midway through the first half when Bailey Nordean and Madison Newton each hit two 3-pointers.

Esko rallied down the stretch and cut the margin to five at the break. The second half started much like the first half very slow going offensively as the Eskomos slowly chipped away and took their first lead at 22-21 and never looked back.

It took Aitkin almost nine minute before they scored their first points in the second half.

It was pressure defense and timely shooting which gave the Eskomos the win as they will now face Mesabi East in the section 7AA semi-finals at UMD Thursday night at 7:30 pm.
